Take a peek into the past!

Education is vital to our work here at The Fusilier Museum.  We offer a varied programme for all ages and abilities.

Our guided tours and workshops for primary schools are suitable for Foundation to Year 6.  The regiment’s story spans over 300 years and we bring this story to life through our engaging, interesting and participatory workshops. Topics covered include;

Victorians

First World War

Second World War

Children will learn through;

Costumed interpretation

Getting hands on with historical objects

Links to local history

Practical activities

We aim to be flexible in our offer to Secondary and Further Education groups in order to best fit the needs of your students. Our offer includes tours, object handling and bespoke sessions. We are also happy to bring objects from our collection straight into your classroom through an outreach session.

Education at The Fusilier Museum is not restricted to schools.  We welcome work with youth groups, scouting, guiding and many other educational organisations.

If you have any questions about education at The Fusilier Museum contact the museum's Learning Officer Jenny Mutch; jenny.mutch@fusiliermuseum.com  or 0161 763 8960.

The museum is also offering FREE SCHOOL VISITS AND COACHES for all SALFORD Primary Schools.  This opportunity is funded by Booth Charities and gives pupils the opportunity to meet Annie Hunter, whose brother Charlie is fighting as part of the Salford Pals, and the firm but fair Sergeant Dalton.  For further information please contact the Learning Officer.
