What's new at The Fusilier Museum

We recently unveiled our stunning, new stained glass window.

The Rose Window, located in the former Arts & Crafts part of the building and commissioned by the museum will form a brand new piece of public art for visitors to see.

The window represents the artistic and cultural history of Bury as well as highlight its connections with Lowry, the cotton industry, building design, and the Fusilier regiments' histories.

The window was designed by well-known stained glass artist Bridget Jones who has worked on similar projects at Ripon Cathedral and York Minster. York Glaziers installed the window which has cost £80K and funded by various organisations including Bury Council, Booth Charities, Arts Council, Viridor, Heritage Lottery Fund and private donations.

Visitors can now see the window for themselves - normal admission rates apply.

The Rose Window will also inspire future users of the building such as students and artists as well as provide an amazing backdrop for weddings and special occasions
