New Exhibition - The Face of Service - Opens 27th April 2018


The Fusilier Museum, Bury has teamed up with local photographer Catchlight Portraits to create a new exhibition which tells the personal stories of life as a Fusilier.

 

‘The Face of Service’ is a photography exhibition which has been specially curated to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers which takes place this year. The new exhibition will include personal stories and a selection of photographic portraits of ex and current serving Fusiliers.

 

Exhibition runs for three months. Normal admission rates apply.


Soldiers & Samurai - Now open

 

A new exhibition detailing the murder of two 20th East Devonshire officers by Samurai in Japan,1864.

 

Soldiers and Samurai tells the story of how Major George Walter Baldwin and Lieutenant Robert Nicholas Bird were killed by Samurai whilst visiting the Giant Buddha in Japan. It also documents the lives of the two murderers as well as showcase some of the earliest photography ever taken in Japan including the work of Felice Beatro who became the unofficial photographer for the East Devonshire Regiment.
