Newest addition to The Fusilier Museum team
Welcome to the team – Dot Broughton. Dot will be working for us as our Documents, Records and Metadata Officer on a part time basis (three days a week) and she will be working on AMOT’s new database, The Ogilby Museum or TOM as its better known!
Dot studied Prehistoric Archaeology, Classical Archaeology and Medieval History at Berlin, Oxford and Preston (UCLan) and has worked within the UK museum sector and with museum collections for over ten years. She was the Portable Antiquities Scheme's Finds Liaison Officer for Lancashire and Cumbria from 2005-2017 and then worked as a curator and assistant curator at Lancashire Museums, Preston, and Tullie House Museum and Art Gallery Trust, Carlisle.
Originally from Germany, Dot has lived more than half of her life in the UK and now lives with her husband, two children and cat in a small village in South Lakeland, Cumbria. When she’s not working Dot loves to explore the Arnside and Silverdale AONB where she lives and long-distance running. In the evenings and on weekends Dot can be found training for ultramarathons – she completed a real one in 2019 and three virtual ones in 2020!
